Dandenong Ranges National Park
Less than an hour from the heart of Melbourne, this park is a great escape from the bustle of city life. It features tall majestic mountain ash forests, dry grassy forests and ancient cool temperate rain forests with tree ferns. Within the park are over 400 different plant species and 200 types of animals. Explore over 160 kilometres of walking tracks, with dedicated horse and cycling trails. Feel connected with nature!
Take a journey on an original steam train through the scenic Australian bush which travels along the same line that first opened in 1900. Almost everyone involved in the railway is a volunteer who is passionate about running the train like it was over a century ago. Visitors may also choose to enjoy a first class experience aboard the train within a dedicated heritage dining carriage.
