Unique old world charm and character coupled with supreme privacy and comfort is what surrounds guests at Running Creek Castle. Nestled in the secluded and evergreen Kancoona Valley, which is conveniently located at the foot of the Victorian Alps. Winter, Summer, Spring or Autumn any season is perfect for a break in our gorgeous and plentiful region.

Running Creek Castle superbly showcases the architecture and trades of a by-gone era. The building itself has evolved from a once very small mountain house to the magnificent structure that stands today. The complexity and quality of the building saw it win the MBA Builder of the Year award for North East Victoria in 2007.

The decor within the castle is in keeping with the style of architecture, while maintaining the comforts of modern day living. Numerous pieces throughout the castle come complete with their own intriguing story.

The beauty of the property extends to the gardens surrounding the castle, which have and continue to evolve with time. Comprising of endless nooks to explore and enjoy, the gardens are also in keeping with the style of the castle.

Running Creek Castle guests can take in the stunning mountainous views from the turret and or relax with a glass of wine on the balcony. For the fisherman, Running Creek is always an inviting option. Bird enthusiasts can get up close and personal with "Maya" the resident Macaw.

Running Creek Castle has on offer for guests a solar heated inground salt water swimming pool, squash court, small gym below the turret, BBQ areas on the castle's main balcony and on the decking at the pool are which overlooks a large section of garden. For the littlies there is a playground comprising of swings, slides and multi-storey play equipment.

The suites occupy three levels and have their own private entry on the ground level. There is a private lounge, kitchen and bathroom with one loft style bedroom (with either king or queen bed) overlooking the lounge, and a second bedroom with one double and one single bed. In addition, each suite has a sofa bed in the lounge which transforms into a queen size bed with inner spring mattress.

The suites have fully equipped kitchens including small fridge, gas cooktop and microwave, all towels and bed linen are supplied, there is gas heating and ceiling fans, each suite has a CD player and TV with Austar. One suite overlooks the lake at the front of the property while the other overlooks lawn and gardens at the rear. Both suites have access to undercover parking.

The castle suites have breakfast included, which comprises of cereal, milk, juice, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, parsley, toast, butter, tea and coffee. The breakfast meals are supplied with guests preparing their own breakfast within the suites or on the BBQs at their leisure.

There is a winery 'Kancoona Valley Wines' which is located just over the hill and only a couple of minutes drive. Otherwise, we have a expansive list of restaurants and eating houses located in Bright, Myrtleford, Mt Beauty and Dederang.

Bright is by far the closest town to us - as the crow flies or via unsealed road, but Myrtleford or Mount Beauty are closest by sealed road.

Rates are for a couple. Extra people are $35 per person 10 years and over, $20 per child between the ages of 3 and 10, and children 2 years and under sleeping in a portacot are free.

All rates include breakfast, however we can negotiate a further discount for guests wishing to self cater their breakfast.
