| The Cape Schanck Lighthouse offers a unique accommodation experience for guests as they stay in the original lighthouse keeper's cottages. The cottages are surrounded by a heritage listed maritime precinct and national park overlooking the ocean, offering a number of scenic coastal walks and experiences. Tour the fully operational lighthouse, discover the maritime museum and watch the sun set over Bass Strait in the evening. The Head Lighthouse Keepers Cottage was built in 1859 and features 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, cooking facilities and an open fireplace, sleeping up to 8 guests. The Red Cottage was built in 1939 as the new quarters for the head keeper, lavishly decorated and including 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, air-conditioning and an open fire, also sleeping up to 8 guests. The one bedroom Museum Cottage was built in 1887 and offers self-contained accommodation for up to 4 guests. The Inspectors Room is located off the verandah of the head keeper's cottage and consists of an ensuite bedroom with its own private entry, microwave, kettle and toaster. All accommodation retains its original architectural features with the insides renovated to provide contemporary comfort for guests. |
