Houseboats are an interesting accommodation option - just think of it like a holiday house that cruises along a river or lake, fully self-contained with everything you need for that truly independent holiday experience. Skippering your own boat means that you can go wherever you want, or just pull into the bank for a while and spend some time ashore.

There are plenty of houseboat options available along the Murray River at Mildura, Robinvale and Echuca. For houseboating on a lake, head down to Eildon on the shores of Lake Eildon.

For something different, spend your boating holiday on a luxury yacht or cruiser. In the Gippsland Lakes towns of Metung and Paynesville are several options for holiday accommodation on the water, allowing you to spend the days cruising the lakes at your own pace.
