Lake Mountain
Lake Mountain is Melbourne's closest alpine resort, situated 21 kilometres east of Marysville. The mountain summit rises to 1,433 metres and during the snow season there are 2,400 hectares which can be skied, 37 kilometres of ski trails and 3 toboggan slopes. Outside of the snow season, the mountain is ideal for bicycle riding, bushwalking and observing the stunning wildflower display during the summer. The resort near the mountain peak includes a large restaurant, cafe, ski hire centre and a retail outlet selling clothing and souvenirs.
