All guests who love to fish or explore the lakes will be able to get local knowledge about the area from your resident hosts, as one is a local commercial Lakes fisherman! This is a special part of the Gippsland Lakes, as Eagle Point is on the edge of an old growth forest with red gums hundreds of years old (some featuring "Aboriginal Canoe" trees). With local wetlands, abundance of birdlife, safe bike tracks, natural fauna park, local waterfront cafes in Paynesville, Wine and Food Trails, Buchan Caves, the Ninety Mile Ocean beach, and the ski fields of Mt Hotham are only 2 hours away. Nearby Raymond Island accessible by ferry, hosts a very popular koala colony.
