Southbank to Williamstown Melbourne River Cruises operate a ferry service along the Yarra River, with drop offs at Scienceworks available on request. See the ferry timetable.
Williamstown Ferries run services along the Yarra River between Southbank and Williamstown, stopping at major attractions along the way on request. See the ferry timetable.

Melbourne Water Taxis operate a water limousine-style service, going where you want, when you want. On the Yarra River, taxis operate between the river mouth at Williamstown and upstream as far as Alma Wharf in Abbotsford. On the Maribyrnong River, taxis operate as far upstream as Canning Reserve Landing in Avondale Heights.

Port Phillip Bay

A car and passenger ferry operates between Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula and Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula.

The 10 kilometre journey across the entrance to Port Phillip Bay takes around 40 minutes.

Western Port Bay

Inter Island Ferries operate high speed passenger catamarans, linking French Island, Phillip Island and the Mornington Peninsula. Departure points are at the Stony Point jetty at Crib Point (Mornington Peninsula), Cowes Jetty (Phillip Island) and Tankerton Jetty (French Island).

Day packages, including cruises and tours, are available.

Gippsland Lakes

The Raymond Island Ferry is a chain ferry which transports vehicles and pedestrians between Paynesville and Raymond Island - a journey of around 200 metres across McMillan Strait.

Spirit of Tasmania

The Spirit of Tasmania operates two passenger and vehicular ferries which travel between Melbourne (Station Pier, Port Melbourne) and Devonport in Tasmania.

The journey through Port Phillip Bay and across Bass Strait is 429 kilometres long, taking approximately 9 to 11 hours.
