Situated within walking distance from the town centre of Bright, The Odd Frog is a luxury accommodation facility consisting of 5 architecturally designed self-contained studios, set amongst 4 hectares of native bushland.
The studios are clad in corrugated iron and framed with Jarrah timber, and once inside, guests will be pleasantly surprised by the welcoming interior. Most of the furniture and cabinets have been designed and built by the owners, creating a individual appearance. In winter the studios are enhanced by a cosy wood fire that evokes a romantic mood. In summer, the private balcony becomes a haven to relax on.
Studio 1 is of an open plan design with a bed in the living area and a kitchenette. All the other studios have separate living areas, a kitchen, separate bedrooms and spa bath. Studios 1 to 4 can sleep up to 2 people, while the larger Studio 5 has two bedrooms.
Each studio is designed to strike a balance between a tourism experience and sustainability. They beautifully integrate into the bush landscape and are constructed from simple, natural materials. They have a north orientation to optimise winter sun and minimise the summer heat, with natural sheep wool insulation. They use solar hot water systems and heating from wood fires. Rainwater is caught in tanks and grey water is treated in reed beds and re-used for watering. As a registered Land for Wildlife property, thousands of new trees and shrubs have been planted, with wood for heating collected sustainably on the property.
The Odd Frog is a perfect secluded getaway for anyone just looking to relax and just chill out.
