The 16 hectare Colac Botanic Gardens are located on the southern bank of Lake Colac. The gardens contain many rare plants and mature oak trees along its perimeter. There are walking tracks, colourful garden beds, lawns, picnic areas and a playground.

Spanning over 100,000 hectares, the Great Otway National Park stretches along the coast between Anglesea and Princetown and inland towards Colac. It features the steep timbered ridges of the Otway Ranges, lush fern gullies, waterfalls, and a coastline dominated by tall cliffs, coves and sandy beaches.

Lake Colac is Victoria's largest natural freshwater lake. Along the southern shoreline of the lake are extensive parklands, several jetties, boat ramps, boating clubs and the Colac Botanic Gardens.

A trail which is noted for its rich scenery through forests, farmland and rolling hills. It begins in Colac and heads south to Beech Forest, including some very steep sections.
