Dimboola information and attractions

Introduction:

Dimboola is located in the west of the state, about halfway between Nhill and the city of Horsham.

The town centre is set a couple of kilometres off the Western Highway with Lloyd Street being Dimboola's main shopping strip. The Wimmera River flows through the town centre and is lined with red gums, walking tracks and picnic areas. This wide stretch of the river is a popular fishing spot, ideal for boating enthusiasts and is home to the local rowing club.

Dimboola is surrounded by grain fields and pastoral land. 10 kilometres north-west of town on the Western Highway is Pink Lake. This salty expanse of wetland takes on a pink colour due to the microscopic algae found in the lake.

South-west of Dimboola is Victoria's second-largest national park - the Little Desert National Park. The road south from Dimboola along the Wimmera River leads to the Horseshoe Bend camping grounds where there's a network of walking tracks along the river and adjacent woodlands.
