These 3 houses in Coventry Street are prefabricated iron buildings which were constructed in Britain, shipped in crates to Australia and then reassembled in Melbourne. They catered for the many migrants who flocked to Victoria and required accommodation during the frenzy of the Gold Rush era in the 1850s.
