Hideaway Cottage is a secluded property set amongst the towering gum trees of the Otway Ranges, making it ideal for a romantic escape or a quiet family retreat where you can get away from it all.

This gorgeous hand crafted two storey mud brick cottage is full of nostalgic charm and character, yet well appointed with modern conveniences.

The spacious ground floor open plan living area has a comfortable leather lounge suite, TV, DVD player, sound system, record player and a game console. Snuggle up in front of the wood burning heater (wood supplied) or there is reverse-cycle air-conditioning for year round comfort. North facing French doors open out from this living area onto a covered terrace with a hammock that offers magnificent views across the garden to the Otway Ranges. The fully equipped kitchen features a gas cooktop and oven, a Scandia combustion stove, microwave, Nespresso coffee pod machine and fridge. There is one bathroom with a vanity unit, shower and toilet.

A staircase carved from Tasmanian oak leads to the two bedrooms on the upper floor. The master bedroom has a queen bed and beautiful sunrises can be observed from the window. A partition separates the master bedroom from the second bedroom which has two single beds. All linen and towels are supplied.

If required, Tuck Away Cabin, located 50 metres from the cottage, can also be hired. This rustic and cosy wood cabin is nestled within the ferns and is ideal for teenagers wanting their own space. The open plan cabin sleeps up to 4 people with a double bed and set of single bunks. There is a TV, a large selection of DVDs and a heater. Cabin guests will need to go up to the cottage for cooking and bathroom facilities.

The beautifully landscaped outdoor entertaining area includes a built-in outdoor pizza oven, BBQ, fire pit and outdoor furniture. The garden has many fruit and ornamental trees including apple, olive, hazelnut, avocado, walnut, nectarine, oak, bunya and woolamai pines, beech, flowering cherry and flowering gum. Children will have plenty of areas of the garden to explore and they will love the tree fort and swing. Glow worms can be found just outside the property.

Hideaway Cottage is an incredible destination for elevating your senses. It is surrounded by resident koalas and bird life and boasts panoramic views across the Otway Ranges. This is the perfect little retreat to escape modern life or undertake a digital detox.

Hideaway Cottage is located approximately 18 minutes drive inland from Apollo Bay, with the final 12 minutes of the journey being along a narrow unsealed road that winds its way through scenic rolling countryside and bushland. You may lucky enough to spot kangaroos or koalas during your drive there.

From the cottage you can explore the Otway Ranges, enjoy the beautiful beaches at Apollo Bay and Marengo, or continue along the Great Ocean Road and take in the grandeur of the 12 Apostles.
