Surrounding a disused reservoir, Belgrave Park is a 14 hectare reserve with areas of open grass and native bushland. It has a large active space area which includes a playground, basketball half court and outdoor fitness equipment. Within the park is a picnic shelter and BBQ facilities.

Birdsland Reserve is a 75 hectare park that features two large lakes connected by Monbulk Creek. There are a network of walking trails around the lake and throughout the park including the Bunjil Trail which ascends up to a cleared hilltop and provides views of Melbourne's city skyline in the distance. The park is home to hundreds of species of native wildlife, including birds, as well as native plants. A community nursery operates within the park. Next the car park is a large picnic shelter and BBQ facilities.

A century-old steam train which runs on its original scenic mountain track through lush fern gullies, forests and farmland between Belgrave, Menzies Creek, Emerald, Cockatoo and Gembrook. At Lakeside is a state-of-the-art visitor centre which includes a large cafe, gift shop and a gallery of steam machinery and relics. There is also a historic museum at Menzies Creek which houses rare operational steam and diesel locomotives.
