Beckworth Retreat

Beckworth Retreat is located on a working sheep farm at the foot of Mount Beckworth, offering a unique countryside escape just minutes from historic Clunes.

Accommodation consists of 6 family suites and double rooms, all with separate external entrances and joined by a wide verandah from where you can enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

• Dunn & Robin Rooms. Two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two single beds. A kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, kettle, sink and fridge. A sitting area with a TV and DVD player. The bathroom has a shower and a bath with a large window that offers a farm view. Maximum occupancy is 5 people.
• Madden & Branigan Rooms. Two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a king single or two singles if required. A kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, kettle, sink and fridge. A sitting area with a TV and DVD player. The large bathroom is universal access with a shower and toilet. Maximum occupancy is 5 people.
• Griffiths & Fenner Rooms. Each room has either a king or queen bed which can be split into two singles if required. These rooms share a modern bathroom. Maximum occupancy is 4 people.

While this self-contained accommodation is perfect for large families or groups, it also caters for couples or smaller families by closing off some of the unused rooms and providing flexible bedding arrangements.

Next to the rooms is a standalone guest kitchen with full facilities for cooking meals and also a gas BBQ. Breakfast provisions can be supplied on request.

Surrounding the accommodation is a lovely garden with plenty of shady and sunny areas. There is a large paved outdoor sitting area and a fire pit for cosy evenings.

As this is a working farm, your hosts live on the property and you will see daily farm activities occurring. The adjoining paddocks often have ewes, lambs and cows grazing.

Guests can go for walks along farm tracks to the summit of Mount Beckworth or just kick back and enjoy the serenity. Nature lovers will be spoilt with native wildlife inhabiting the area including kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, kookaburras and cockatoos.

Beckworth Retreat is located 7 minutes from Clunes - Victoria's first gold town which is a charming treasure trove of history and character, hosting the internationally recognised Booktown Festival. Several local wineries are within a a few kilometres, providing a lovely afternoon out. Explore the best of Victoria's historic Goldfields region and the stunning Macedon Ranges, with Ballarat only a 24 minute drive away and Daylesford 34 minutes.
