  • Buda Historic Home & Garden

    Built in 1861 and the former residence of a silversmith, the home houses a significant collection of art works. It is set within 2 hectares of enchanting gardens and includes a nursery and gift shop. Many of the plants that were originally planted in the garden in the 1860s remain today.

  • Goldfields Track

    The Goldfields Track covers a distance of 210 kilometres, taking in historic mining areas and a variety of natural features. It is divided into three smaller tracks and follows the top of the Great Dividing Range, connecting the cities of Ballarat and Bendigo. The 90 kilometre Wallaby Track starts at Mount Buninyong, passing through Ballarat, Creswick and Daylesford. The 60 kilometre Dry Diggings Track extends from Daylesford to Hepburn Springs and Castlemaine. The 60 kilometre Leanganook Track section links Castlemaine with Bendigo.

  • Old Castlemaine Gaol

    The jail first opened in 1861 and operated until 1990. It is now open to the public and offers regular guided tours where visitors can explore what lies behind the old stone walls of this prison. The complex also includes a cafe and is the venue for a number of shows and events.

    Located in the former Mechanics Institute building, this theatre hosts an annual program of live performances and plays from touring productions and local artists. The foyer is used as a regularly changing exhibition space for artistic works.
