Mount Buffalo is accessed via the Great Alpine Road at Porepunkah. It offers alpine and cross country skiing without the crowds of the larger resorts. There are two ski and tobogganing areas - Cresta Valley and Dingo Dell. Slopes are mostly gentle and suitable for less experienced skiers and boarders, though there are areas for the more advanced in Cresta Valley. For cross country skiers, there are 9 kilometres of marked trails. Accommodation on the mountain is limited to camping spots within the national park.
