Werribee Park & Mansion
Werribee Park & Mansion

Landscaped gardens surround a spectacular Italianate mansion which was built in the 1870s by the pioneering Chirnside Brothers. In 1923, the mansion was sold to the Catholic Church who ran it as a seminary and added several wings to the original homestead which are now occupied by the Mansion Hotel & Spa. Now under government ownership, visitors can explore the mansion, learn about the Australian pastoral empire of the Chirnside Family and enjoy the surroundings which include formal gardens, a parterre, glasshouses, open lawns, a lake, original farm buildings and a sculpture walk.
