  • All Ford Day

    February. See hundreds of Ford show cars and club displays with competitions, live music, childrens rides and entertainment

  • Australian International Airshow

    February / March. This acclaimed air show is held at Avalon Airport and features breathtaking flying demonstrations plus exhibitions of hundreds of military, historic and commercial aircraft

  • Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

    January. This bicycle race is inspired by the European spring classics and is named in honour of Cadel Evans - Australia's only Tour de France winner. Experience a weekend of fantastic cycling with elite one day separate races for men (174 kilometres) and women (113 kilometres) with spectacular coastal scenery around Barwon Heads, Torquay and Bells Beach as its backdrop. The race starts and ends in Geelong at the waterfront Steampacket Gardens. There is also a shorter series of people's rides open to the general public. Spectators are welcome at several designated viewing areas along the course with food stalls and big screens showing live coverage of the race.

  • Festival Of Sails

    January. Held across the Australia Day long weekend at Geelong's waterfront precinct, this festival offers something for everyone. There is thrilling sailing action as thousands of competitors take part in this keel boat regatta, live entertainment, art and craft market stalls, fine food, interactive water events and fireworks.

  • Geelong After Dark

    May. A free event held on Friday night with live music, performances, lighting displays, installations and arts experiences. It is central Geelong's pop-up night of arts.

  • Geelong Highland Gathering

    March. Held in Queens Park, it offers a popular and comprehensive display of Scottish culture, livestock, merchandise and musical folklore

  • Great Australian Beer Festival

    February. This celebration of craft beers and ciders is held at Geelong Racecourse. Brewers will showcase over 200 craft beers and ciders which visitors can sample and indulge in while enjoying Australia's biggest alfresco beer and cider garden. There will also be food stalls, competitions, live music and lots of entertainment.

  • Motor City Music Festival

    March. Rocking Geelong on the Labour Day long weekend at the Geelong Showgrounds, there is music for all tastes including rock, blues, country, roots and tribute acts. There are free carnival rides, all ages entertainment, fireworks, food stalls and a craft beer and cider hall.

  • Pako Festa

    February. This is Victoria's premier multicultural event and it's free. Celebrate with food from around the world, traditional dancing, workshops, art and craft exhibitions, childrens activities, street performers and the famous Pako street parade.

  • Royal Geelong Show

    October. Bringing the country to the city, this four day show has been running for over 150 years. It features exhibitions of the finest animals in the region, sheep shearing, equestrian events, machinery displays, art, entertainment, carnival rides, food stalls and fireworks.

  • Thai Culture & Food Festival

    April. Held at Steampacket Gardens on the Geelong waterfront, the event consists of a fun day filled with the sights, sounds and tastes of Thailand. There will be ceremonies, traditional dance, music, cooking demonstrations, a fashion parade, childrens games and kick boxing exhibition fights. Some leading Thai restaurants will operate food and drink stalls at the event.

  • Toast to the Coast

    November. Showcasing the best wines and gourmet food from the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and Moorabool Valley. Visit a selection of award-winning wineries, sample their offerings in a picturesque vineyard setting, and enjoy live entertainment.
