The Grampians wine region has been producing acclaimed wines since the 1860s. There are large and also boutique wineries producing shiraz, riesling, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir and dolcetto. Most wineries are centred around the towns of Great Western, Ararat, Horsham, Halls Gap and Moyston.
