    Flemington is a world-class racing venue located 5 kilometres from the heart of Melbourne. The first race meeting was held on the site in 1840. The biggest racing event at Flemington is the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Over 8 days there are 4 full day events where racing meets fun and fashion. It kicks off with the prestigious Derby Day, the race that stops the nation - the Melbourne Cup, the fashion and music event of Oaks Day and the family-friendly Stakes Day.
